Now it was time for our dreams to come alive, the girls came to visit and our team was at last together. We began to plan the building of our organic farm and cooking school, first came the perfect name ‘Bhavana’ meaning ‘spiritual cultivation’, the name embodied everything we wanted to be and create. We then started on our business plan, when the classes were to start, how many in the class, what the whole experience would look like and who was our market.
As the year rolled on it was time to get our plan underway, chickens were to be the first, and so their cute little coop was designed and constructed. They arrived late December, and on Christmas morning we all ran with great anticipation to collect our first eggs, we were now at the beginning of our first paddock to plate adventure.
Over the holidays we designed our new kitchen garden and mid-January it was underway, watching our dream coming alive everyday was so fulfilling and incredibly exciting.
Something was missing though, we had the chickens, the garden, the new open land, but where was the knowledge? This I pondered over and over, was I really considering going back to learn, how scary was that going to be, when would I have the time, it’s too hard, I can’t! But that little voice never gave up, she kept pushing and pushing, until I picked up the phone and registered for a certificate in organic farming, now I was on my way.
We had come a very long way, from our city life to our dream of a cooking school in the country.
Our combined vision, passion and diversity of experiences meant we now had the perfect ingredients for achieving our dreams
Everything was now in place, and Bhavana was born.
