Ingredients: Serves: 6
- 1 ½ cups dry red wine
- ½ cup of marsala
- 2 star anise
- 1 cinnamon quill
- 6 medium pears
- 3 thick strips lemon rind
- 3 thick strips of orange rind
- 4 cardamom pods
Place all the ingredients into a slow cooker.
Turn the pears to coat well with the cooking liquid.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, occasionally turning the pears in the liquid to ensure an even colouring and infusion of flavours.
To serve, remove pears from the slow cooker and place onto a serving plate. Pour syrup over pears.
Serve with cream or a dairy free cashew nut cream alternative.
