Cleansing for me over the years, has included all sorts of protocols and practices, from
liver cleansing, to elimination protocols, HCG to MMS (that’s a whole other blog on that one!), you name it – I’ve done it!
The form of cleansing, I have undoubtedly had the best results with is juicing and intermittent fasting.
After devouring numerous documentaries of individuals that have had huge successes, consulting my guiding light Jo Rushton, and testing various ‘recipes’, I did a 2-week juicing cleanse, and absolutely LOVED it. In fact, since then, I have done it twice more, and plan on doing one at the start of every season.
Rightly or wrongly, for my first 2-week juice cleanse, I took myself off all my MTHFR and pylori (gene mutation) supplements and my one thyroid medication, and haven’t yet gone back on any of them! The one mistake I made was not getting my bloods tested before my first cleanse! Rather after my first one, I then visited my friendly GP and asked her to test my bloods.
I can honestly say my body felt like it had experienced a total recalibration. What do I mean by that? My energy levels were brilliant, a few kilos were shed, but more importantly I felt different on the inside. Miraculously, my menopausal hot flushes STOPPED and have not returned, my methylation has improved enormously…to the point of becoming far less dependent on all the various supplements required to support my bodies methylation pathways due to MTHFR gene. This is such a great example of epic-genetics in action! (no longer being held hostage by my genes)
For me, that alone is a godsend, anyone who has experienced them, will totally understand the rejoicing I experience at no longer having them! No more stripping bed sheets and any clothes in the middle of winter, just to cool down… G O N E.
Zip, Zero, Nada, and… I’m SO happy!
Back to my blood results, after the first 2-week cleanse, my bloods came back brilliant, and my Dr said I didn’t need my Thyroid medication, and that we’d revisit in 6 months’ time.
So not only was I feeling better, my bloods were showing what I knew all along!
After working with Jo (Rushton) for years now, she has taught me to be the best judge of how my body is feeling, by listening to what my body needs. I find I’m still learning this, however overall, am much better at it.
For now, I’m looking forward to our Spring Cleanse.
For anyone interested in cleansing, it’s always great to have some support, someone to hold your hand as you go through the process. To get you kick started we have our Bhavana Spring Cleanse workshop coming up on Saturday September 30th
